I believe wellness is both a choice and a journey. I've had times in my life when I've been super fit, super slim and super dedicated to both exercise and good nutrition. AND I've also had times in my life where I have disregarded everything I know and not made exercise or eating healthy a priority. I feel we can all relate to these wavering ways of being. At the end of the day, we all have muscle memory and we can and do get back in shape after some time away from sustained focus on our wellness.
I believe wellness encompasses a state of mind, habits and practices. It's kind of a package and because we are all so different, what works for me, may not work for you. So I'm sharing here with you some of my journey in the hope to inspire you to seek a state of wellness for yourself that works for you. Here are just some of the ways I manage my wellness.
In 2012 I quit my corporate job working for one the major 4 banks in Brisbane City. I quit the 4.30am commute into Brisbane and the 6pm arrival back home on the train and I got a job filling shelves in the evening, pulling pallets, climbing up and down ladders stocking shelves in a Warehouse so I could spend the days at home building my own organic garden, attending Permaculture workshops and seed saving groups and learning every thing I could about organic gardening and original seed. I took up running and light weights, yoga and juicing.

Turning back the clock and slowing down the ageing process is easy when you know how. When I came to an all time low in my career, in my physical and mental health, it was time for me to choose a different way of life. My lifestyle and my thought patterns had led me into chronic illness with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), fibromyalgia, insomnia, suicidal depression and severe anxiety.
That is a thing of the past and this page is dedicated to sharing the things that have helped me turn back the clock. You can see from the photos above, in 2015, just 3 years into growing my own organic food and consuming it, exercise and a healthy lifestyle that included meditation, yoga and plenty of time in the fresh air and sunshine, I was still developing puffiness and fine lines all around my eyes, my neck and my decolletage. By 2020 the fine lines and puffiness around my eyes have diminished and my skin has a radiant glow. What's my secret?
Our cells age due to a variety of reasons. There are toxins in our air, our water, our food. Food is no longer grown in a clean, uncontaminated manner. It is grown with hormones, it's genetically modified and it has lots and lots and lots of additives to it. For true wellness, I eat God food (what grows - as a plant) not man food (made in a plant). Fast food and take away food is not a large part of my diet now.

In April 2020 I discovered Renu 28 Gel and Asea Supplement. Antioxidant - GSH is the body’s master Antioxidant, our bodies depend on GSH for the removal of toxins and GSH is at the heart of all immune functions. Other antioxidants in our body depend on GSH to function properly.
Detoxification - GSH detoxifies a large number of pollutants by binding to carcinogens, heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides and radiation by forming a soluble compound with the toxin that can then be excreted through the urine or bile.
Immune system - Healthy growth and activity of immune cells depends on the availability of GSH. The protective activity of GSH is two-fold – it enhances the activity of immune cells and also functions as an antioxidant within them.
Increased Energy - Our energy levels are a result of many factors - everything from the biochemical reactions taking place within our cells, to muscle function and even your sense of well-being. GSH enables the mitochondria of a cell to remain fully charged, enhancing muscle strength and endurance. Clinical trials have shown that lowering GSH in the mitochondria results in cell death.
Repair - Our body is constantly under attack from free radicals, some from external sources and some generated in our own body. Free radicals attack the nearest stable molecule, "stealing" its electron. A molecule that loses an electron then becomes a free radical itself and attacks the next nearest stable molecule, this begins a chain reaction. Once the reaction is started it can cascade through hundreds of molecules. As this occurs over and over again the cell eventually dies or mutates. Sometimes the mutated cell mutates to a point that we know as cancer. GSH performs a vital role in repairing the damaged DNA by replacing the missing electron. Normal to elevated GSH keeps the repair of our cells at a maximum and reduces the number of cell mutations that would occur otherwise.
GSH is at the heart of all immune functions and low GSH levels are seen in many diseases such as AIDS, advanced diabetes, and cancers. Raising and maintaining GSH levels can help minimize the risk of diseases.
Glutathione exists in reduced (GSH) and oxidized (GSSG) states. In healthy cells and tissue, more than 90% of the total Glutathione is in the reduced form (GSH) and less than 10% exists in the oxidized form (GSSG). An increased GSSG-to-GSH ratio is considered indicative of oxidative stress. The ratio of reduced Glutathione to oxidized Glutathione within cells is often used scientifically as a measure of cellular toxicity.
