In 1993, diagnosed with clinical depression, I was suicidal. I just wanted to be numb and end it all. I was miserable and miserable to be around I'm sure. I was so lost with no direction, the only passion in my life then was my son without whom I wouldn't be here today. I've spent many years with low energy and in pain, diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1996.
It's been a long journey and today I'm free of pain and depression; blessed to enjoy vibrant health and energy. I have direction and passion for life again. I owe it all to good home grown organic food, living a balanced lifestyle and spending time connecting with nature.
My passion for health and nutrition developed during my younger years as a Registered Nurse, I started my hospital based training at the tender age of 18. Always having a yearning to care for and comfort people, I hoped to make a difference in the health and lives of others. Following the diagnosis of my Mum's breast cancer, I became an advocate for good nutrition. I became passionate about whole foods and the nutritional content of food while working as a Community Nurse in the 1990's. I first changed my own diet and then began learning about the benefits of food as medicine.
The great Greek physician Hippocrates prescribed food for his patients and is quoted as saying: "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food". This is the basis of the Hippocratic Oath, believed to be written by either Hippocrates himself or one of his scholars: "I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgement; I will keep them from harm and injustice"
When I was nursing more and more people with chronic and fatal illness, I began to research and practice a different approach to the care of my patients, I looked at all aspects of life; diet, nutrition, exercise, stress triggers, support structures, self beliefs and time out (the practice of meditation). I became disillusioned with drug therapy working in Palliative Care and after meeting Ian Gawler and hearing him speak, my focus became more on balance than on extremes. I felt I was able to be of better support and service. My care became centred on wellness promotion, taking my focus off sickness care. Ian Gawler inspired me to develop a healthy lifestyle and take time out of the busyness of life.
I studied Reiki I & II in 1988. It wasn't until 2018 that I continued my Alternative Therapy education and had enough confidence to quit mainstream and start my own business as an Alternative Healing Therapist.
My capacity with energy healing, my psychic ability and my facilitation of healing has grown exponentially since then. I love what I do and I do what I love. Assisting clients through health and wellness coaching, personal & business coaching is my passion.
